Wakefield Cable Advisory Committee re-elects Lieber as chair and begins preparation for license renewals. Daniel P. Lieber and Shane McCarthy were unanimously re-elected as chair and vice chair, respectively.
The committee outlined the renewal schedule for three major cable franchises: Verizon (February 2027), Comcast (June 2027), and RCN (March 2029). A community needs ascertainment review will be conducted with assistance from WCAT. The committee also addressed service requirements for Wakefield Memorial High School's new building, flagging concerns about the Verizon contract and headend relocation, with Lieber to consult town counsel on technical and contractual issues.
