Capital Planning Committee reaches fiscal 2027 budget goal

Capital Planning Committee · Meeting of March 2, 2026

Wakefield Capital Planning Committee reaches 2027 budget goal. The committee voted unanimously Monday to approve prior meeting minutes and reviewed fiscal year 2027 capital requests. Department of Public Works Director Joe Conway presented updates on the backhoe request and discussed changes including removal of a Yeuell School request and a proposed Space Study on town property.

The committee declined to fund the Space Study through capital and recommended it be presented at Town Meeting as a warrant article. Committee Chair Philip Renzi is tasked with seeking clarification on a Wakefield Public Schools card reader system request before a final vote March 3.
