Commission on Disabilities plans facility accessibility improvements across town

Commission on Disabilities · Meeting of January 5, 2026

Wakefield Commission on Disabilities advances accessibility improvements across town facilities. The commission approved prior meeting minutes unanimously and discussed accessibility upgrades at the ACE Building, where $25,000 in town funds will support entrance renovation and elevator work; a cost estimate is expected shortly. A grant opportunity opening in April may fund additional improvements.

The commission also planned outreach to business owners on snow removal obligations and is drafting disability-focused guidance for publication.
