WAKEFIELD — Conservation Commission approves residential tree removal and advances expanded wetland protection bylaw. The body voted 4-1 with one abstention to permit cutting of 12 trees at 7 Pheasantwood Drive, with replacement of two jurisdictional trees required under Commission policy; member Jennifer Fanning abstained. Fanning presented a revised local bylaw extending protections beyond Massachusetts state law to isolate wetlands larger than 1,000 square feet and establish a 25-foot no-disturbance zone, with warrant article submission planned for November 2026 town meeting.

The Commission unanimously voted to issue an enforcement order at 96 Audubon Road and 1 and 3 Teal Road for clearing and gravel fill placement in wetland areas, then unanimously referred the matter to the Department of Environmental Protection.
