Economic Development Council · Meeting of May 7, 2026

Wakefield Economic Development Council updates economic project status ahead of downtown website launch. The Council approved prior meeting minutes and received updates from Director Erin Kokinda on ARPA-funded initiatives, with approximately $289,000 remaining in the Facade & Sign Improvement Program. The MakeItWakefield.com website launches in May featuring a business directory, resource center, and commercial space listings.

Project Pop-Up continues performing well, with Cotton and Blue and Creative Chaos Emporium both seeking permanent Wakefield locations while a new 3D printing tenant is expected this summer. The Video Marketing Program has generated positive feedback from participating businesses including Mojo Sushi.
