WAKEFIELD — Environmental Sustainability Committee unanimously backs pollinator outreach and fix-it clinic. Chair Tiana Veldwisch's committee approved spending town budget funds on 40 pollinator lawn signs ahead of a sold-out February 25 library speaker event, and separately voted $100 for native plant seeds to distribute at the program. Rebecca Nuernberger reported on the library talk, scheduled for 6:30pm with a full room and wait list.
The committee discussed a March 8 fix-it clinic partnership with Creative Chaos, with volunteers lined up for clothing, eyeglass, electronics, furniture, and jewelry repair. Committee members Steffin Spears and Christina Olivieri announced they will not seek reappointment; their final meeting will be in April.
