Finance Committee approves revised DPW budget and salary contingency plan

WAKEFIELD — Finance Committee unanimously approves revised DPW budget and salary contingency plan. Chair James Sullivan presided over the May 4 meeting, which revisited the Department of Public Works budget at a new total of $7,505,600, incorporating a $107,000 reduction from available funds. Member Joseph B.
Bertrand moved both the DPW approval and a companion motion establishing $728,461 in salary contingency funding from the tax levy to cover cost-of-living adjustments and step increases for contracts under active negotiation. The Committee also revoted Town Meeting Warrant Articles 10 and 11 to account for the revised allocations now flowing through the tax levy.
