WAKEFIELD — Housing Trust re-elects Severt chair, moves Payment-in-Lieu bylaw forward. Chair Gail Severt was unanimously re-elected at the July 20 meeting; Vice Chair Sarah Fowler's appointment was postponed due to absence. Senior Planner Marissa Meaney presented the first draft of a Payment-in-Lieu bylaw that would allow developers to contribute to an affordable-housing fund instead of building units on site.
The Trust adopted Councilman Doug Butler's suggestion to round all inclusionary-zoning calculations up to the next whole number, ensuring developers hit higher affordability targets. Severt, Iafrate, and Meaney reported progress on a Lincoln Properties project, noting the outreach letter established the Trust's collaborative intent.
