New Law Brings Licensure To Mass. Home Care Industry

WAKEFIELD — State lawmakers, including Wakefield's own legislative delegation, have advanced a new law establishing licensure requirements for Massachusetts' previously unregulated home care industry, according to a report carried by Wakefield Patch. Closer to home, Beebe Library announced it will close for four days later this month for HVAC repair work.

TOWN HALL

Lucius Beebe Memorial Library will close from August 24 through 27 for HVAC work, the town's News Flash announced. Cardholders can still borrow using their Wakefield library cards at libraries in Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Lynnfield, or any other library in the NOBLE network while the work is underway.

COMING UP

The library's regular Wednesday Drop-in Tech Help session runs today, August 19, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Lecture Hall, offering 15-minute one-on-one appointments. Lisa's Crafty Crochet & Knitting Club meets Friday, August 21, at 11 a.m. in the Lecture Hall. On Thursday, August 20, several town boards meet, including the Retirement Board (hybrid via Zoom), the Permanent Building Committee, its Working Group Subcommittee, and the Housing Trust.
