WAKEFIELD — Permanent Building Committee Working Group approves prior meeting minutes, reviews construction progress on Wakefield Memorial High School renovation. Joseph B. Bertrand chaired the June 18 hybrid meeting, which advanced procurement of Band Storage Furniture and a Grand Piano for $57,392 selected by the music department, with savings from the furniture offsetting the piano cost.
The group approved moving forward with new Musco Lighting at Burnett Softball Field, targeting Fall 2026 completion before the school opens. Change Order SOV-025 redistributed $271,783 within contingency and hold accounts without altering the $224.3 million contract value; revised Substantial Completion date is February 27, 2028. The Disabilities Commission will attend a September 10 construction progress tour with SMMA's accessibility consultant to review ADA compliance.
