Planning Board sets April 14 public hearing on stormwater bylaw

WAKEFIELD — Planning Board schedules public hearing for revised stormwater bylaw. Town Engineer Bill Renault presented the NPDES MS4 Stormwater Management Program updates, which establish standards for new and redeveloped properties, create a drainage revolving fund, and resolve conflicting bylaws. The board voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on April 14, 2026.
Members Bill Spaulding and Theodore H. Noell raised questions on enforcement, waivers, and low-impact development techniques. Board Chair Kevin York reported the Housing Trust is considering allowing developers to contribute cash to the Affordable Housing Trust when required affordable units fall short of whole numbers.
