Recreation Commission approves spring and summer program slate

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Recreation Commission reviewed spring and summer program enrollment and facility operations at its April 8 virtual meeting. Recreation Director Dan McGrath reported 287 children served over winter break, spring tennis lessons launching Saturday with 47 registrants, and 108 applicants pursuing 42 community garden plots. The ACC remains booked solid weekdays 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the ACE building received a $20,000 state grant with an equal $20,000 DPW allocation for a handicap accessibility feasibility study.
Soccer and lacrosse begin April 12; baseball and softball follow at month's end.
