WAKEFIELD — Retirement Board names Sherman chair, grants 3 percent COLA for FY27. The five-member board unanimously appointed Daniel W. Sherman as Chair, with Sherri Dalton continuing as Vice Chair, and voted to grant a 3 percent Cost of Living increase on the $16,000 COLA base effective July 1, 2026 — the highest rate allowed.
The board approved payroll and warrant items totaling $1.29 million, welcomed new Group 4 member Christopher Czarnota (Fire), and accepted three applications for superannuation retirement. Elizabeth Rourke joined the board effective April 22, replacing outgoing Chair Kevin Gill.
