Wakefield library trustees accept reports amid budget approval and maintenance issues. At the February 25 meeting, trustees unanimously accepted monthly secretary and staff reports as Director Catherine McDonald reported the Town Council's enthusiastic endorsement of the FY27 budget on February 23, with a Finance Committee review scheduled for February 27. The board addressed building maintenance issues including a backflow valve leak requiring weekend repairs and discussed a high summer water bill.
The Friends group is planning a book sale May 13 through 16 and aiming to launch after-hours silent auction events beginning in September. Trustees sent director evaluation forms due February 28.
