WAKEFIELD COUNCIL ON AGING APPROVES BUDGET WITH EXPANDED DRIVER HOURS

Wakefield Council on Aging approves budget with expanded driver hours. The Town Council granted the board's request to increase driver hours to include Fridays, a centerpiece of the budget now slated for Town Meeting presentation. Director Karen Burke reported one new hire and several interviews underway to address driver staffing gaps.
The board approved upcoming programming including an April 29 spring fling for Mystic Valley Elder Services' 50th anniversary, a St. Patrick's Day party March 17, and a May 28 joint tea party with neighboring towns open to student participation. Members Julie Brown and Jim Morin were recognized for their service as their terms conclude.
