Wakefield Memorial High School project moving through construction phases with two pending change orders.

Permanent Building Committee · Meeting of May 7, 2026

Wakefield Memorial High School working group advances two construction change orders for May 14 vote. Bond construction presented PCO-258, a Worcester Air ductwork claim settlement reduced to $36,104 from an initial $135,000 submission, and PCO-255 for concrete-floor mark removal ahead of linoleum installation at $109,030. Both will be added to SOV #24 for Permanent Building Committee approval.

Science lab casework warranty talks advanced with increased terms, and Chair Joseph B. Bertrand raised questions about broadening the new Athletic Hall of Fame wall to recognize non-athletic community contributions; SMMA agreed to reevaluate scope. Construction contingency balance remains $5.3 million against a total project contract value of $224.3 million.
