Wakefield Memorial High School project working group advances utility costs, parking plan, and accessibility review.

Permanent Building Committee · Meeting of June 4, 2026

Wakefield Memorial High School renovation working group approves minutes and resolves budget question on cable installation. After dispute with Comcast over responsibility for installing WCAT connection, the team decided to pay installation fees from the "Utilities" line item, acting on legal advice from Town Counsel that the installer bore contractual obligation. SMMA presented updated Hall of Fame renderings and a revised community flyer addressing parking counts for Phase 2 logistics.

Chair Joseph B. Bertrand directed scheduling of an FF&E and Technology Subcommittee meeting to review bids due June 5, with Permanent Building Committee approval targeted for June 28. The Disabilities Commission and an individual who raised accessibility concerns will be invited to attend a construction walkthrough with SMMA's ADA consultant.
