Wakefield Moves 9/11 Ceremony To Americal Civic Center

WAKEFIELD — Wakefield's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony is moving to the Americal Civic Center this year, the town announced over the weekend, while the Cable Advisory Committee is asking residents to complete a new survey on the future of WCAT's local programming.

TOWN HALL This year's September 11 remembrance ceremony will be held at the Americal Civic Center rather than its usual location, according to a town announcement posted over the weekend. No additional details on the reason for the change were provided.

The Cable Advisory Committee, which held a public hearing this week on cable customer service and Public, Education and Government access fees, is now circulating a brief community survey to help guide its strategy for sustaining WCAT's services going forward.

COMMUNITY & ARTS Lucius Beebe Memorial Library brings back its Thursday night concert series September 3 at 6 p.m., with Boston-born drummer and composer Lee Fish headlining Plaza Jazz on the library's outdoor plaza.

The library also continues its weekly Drop-in Tech Help sessions Wednesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Lecture Hall, offering residents 15-minute one-on-one appointments with staff.
