Wakefield Posts Independence Day Schedule as Summer Activities Fill the Calendar
With the Fourth of July just ten days away, Wakefield is pointing residents toward its Independence Day activity schedule and parking information now posted on the town's official website — the most concrete piece of town business in this cycle.
TOWN HALL
The town's homepage is spotlighting its Independence Day planning resources, with a full activity schedule and parking guidance available at wakefield.ma.us for anyone heading to the celebration. Separately, a new World War II display has gone up at the Americal Civic Center: the uniform of Pfc. Joseph E. Rapallo is now on view in the Heritage Room, donated by the veteran's family. And residents with yard waste to move can plan around the Nahant Street Yard Waste Site, which is open Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Lucius Beebe Memorial Library is deep into its summer programming calendar. Adults can join the Beebe Board Game Club on Thursday, June 25, at 6 p.m. — open to anyone looking to learn a new game or revisit an old favorite. On Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m., the Crafty Crochet & Knitting Club meets in person in the lecture hall for its weekly session. The Opera Club of Wakefield convenes Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m. to listen, share, and explore operatic performances past and present.
The library is also running its adult Summer Reading program — "Libraryland" — alongside kids' and teens' summer reading, and a Plaza Jazz series is listed among the summer lineup. Music Bingo is another adult program being highlighted on the library's summer events page.
