Wakefield Preps For State Primary As Roadwork Wraps Up
With Labor Day approaching and the September 1 state primary just days away, Wakefield residents are being reminded of early voting options while a North Avenue lane closure and library author event round out a light news cycle.

The town is highlighting early in-person voting ahead of the September 1 state primary, according to the town's website. Residents with questions about polling locations or early voting hours can check the town's election information page.
The northbound lane of North Avenue was scheduled to close starting at 7 p.m. on August 26 for overnight roadwork, per the town website; drivers in that area should continue to expect possible lingering effects from the project as crews wrap up work.
The town is also planning a 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony for 9:45 a.m. on September 11 at Wakefield's Public Safety Building, according to town officials.
