Wakefield Soccer Association opens registration for its 2026 fall travel program and announces volunteer award winners.

WAKEFIELD -- Youth soccer led the week's local sports news in Wakefield, with the Wakefield Soccer Association (WSA) promoting its Fall 2026 season.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Wakefield Soccer Association is accepting registrations for its Fall 2026 travel program, open to players in grades 3 through 8, with evaluation dates to be announced through the club's website. WSA also said registration for its Fall Intramurals program will be "opening soon." Separately, the club recognized two of its volunteers with 2026 honors: Angelo Pierri and Jeff Guinta were each named winners of WSA awards, according to the association's website.

No Wakefield Memorial High School games were listed for the period, and no Town Recreation Department or community-league items were reported by the sources reviewed this week.
